Happy Hallooween!!!

Indeed. Happy Hallooween Everybody! (As well as happy last day of the month) So I will have another archive of blog posts... I wont be doing that much for hallooween actually, except for helping at someone elses party. Having a Pizza, and maybe a little else.

I really ought to go out and take some more pictures. Actually a couple of days ago it was incredibly windy. There had actually been a warning for small cars!!! I was almost blown over at some point. It lasted all day, and a bit of the next day. That was the worst wind that I've ever seen in montreal...

I actually prefer Pinnacle to Adobe Premiere pro etc. My current computer doesnt have enough RAM to edit HD movies though...

I intend to buy a cell phone at some point soon... The Motorola RAZR V3 looks really nice. Or perhaps a Nokia Model or Sony Ericson...I might want the ability to play MP3 music and take pictures. Most of them have those features now actually...

Stella hasn't been posting much on her blog lately. She has some nice pictures on there actually...

I really am a Canon fan when it comes to digital SLR's... They have a superior assortment of lenses...

10x zooms are really amazing. I was able to see the full capabilities of it when I took my pictures from the top of the mountain.. I was able to zoom in on something on the other side of the city, and see people walking around!!! Its really incredible.

I saw the Acer Aspire 9800 in future shop a couple days ago. That size of screen on a notebook is really amazing. But not practical in the slightest bit. It would be good though, if say, you were a gamer and you are travelling abroad for university and the only times that you would want to move it is when you're returning back home in the holidays... The speed was incredble though, (Intel Core Duo T2600) They had a game on there that I had run to see what the GFX and speed were like and I was really impressed... Im not sure how much it is though. Not that I would want to buy it. 'cause it weighs abut 20 pounds including the power adapter!!!

I really like the logitech Z-2300 2.1 200w Speakers. I checked them out at microbytes (on the very windy day). They cost about 135$ CAD plus tax. I was very impressed by the sound quality.

The attitude of people towards display products in stores is apalling. I saw that a lot of the computers there were showing signs of damage. And some of the pens for the PDA's and tablet PC's had been stolen, (a few examples) It really is ridiculous to steal the pens actually, as there would be no real use for them without the PDA itself. The damage is really pointless...

I really am looking forward to when I will have time to go to the mall. So that I can find a good TV to get. I am really busy most of the week actually, it will probably be on the weekend if something doesn't come up and if the weather is nice...

I have no paticular preference whne it comes to graphics cards. Although I am slightly more interested in nVidia. the GeForce 7950 GX2 is incredible. You can really see the difference that it makes... My prefered GeForce brands are ASUS, XFX, and BFGtech.

The weather isn't looking too nice out right now. The sky is really dreary. I think that it may rain.

Weekend

Well its been a long time since I last posted. So heres my weekend Blog post...

Hallooween is coming soon. I've hallooweenized my desktop with a spooky icon pack, spooky WindowBlinds theme, spooky wallpaper, and a spooky logon......

Not too much has been happening. My photography tutor is still in sweden. She will probably be back next week.

I just participated in a study of music yesterday. I had to listen to music and stuff and answer questions for 3 hours. I got a gift certificate to some music store afterwards.

Im searching for a new TV at the mall on sunday. At Best Buy and dumoulin, and probably a few other stores as well. Most likely a flat-panel...

Its a very rainy day today, hopefully it won't rain tommorrow as well...

A microbytes outlet will be opening in Ontario!!! Its good that its expanding into other pars of canada. Its a really good store. All of the outlets are small, but they are all packed with good and up-to-date stuff. It also has very good prices. Its my favorite computer store, when it comes to components etc.

I wasn't on my computer yesterday because I was actually out all day. I left at 10:00AM and got back at about 9:00PM. And I was too tired afterwards to go onto the computer and blog.

I'll post some more pictures at some point. I may also try to take some videos on my camera. I can do that actually. With audio as well... Pretty decent quality even. And I have a decent-sized memory card to store the pictures.

I've suddenly gotten interested in whales. Humpback whales in particular. A really interesting species. I've been reading some articles on them. As well as Orcas and dolphins....

I've been chatting to my dad an Stella more recently. Mostly because I've been online far more.

Abandon Ship! Abandon Ship!

I'm planning on selling my Fuji S5200 so that I can get the Canon Rebel XT. I've learnt about using the settings on more advanced cameras so i'm going to sell it so that I can move up to an SLR....

I like the way that the MacBook uses Magnets to hold down the lid instead of traditional latches. Its a really innovative design. And it seems to hold it down as well as the latches do.

I met my friend Nicholas in person last Sunday. (Not this one) We had been chatting over MSN for several months and we actually got to meet face-to-face then.

I like LowePro camera bags. I saw a Nova 4 AW yesterday and was really impressed. They make really great bags. I'll pick LowePro when i buy my next camera bag...

My photography tutor is going on a trip to Sweden for three weeks so I wont be seeing her for a while...

Its getting really quite cold over here. Ive taken out my winter clothes today...

Actually my TV broke today. It was an old CRT anyway. Next year I'll have a flat-panel. I like the Samsung flat-panel TV's. They're a bit more expensive than the others though I find. I'll be getting one thats between 20 and 30 inches.

News and updates

JCXP has just got to 17,000 members. Thats a huge amount. But In my opinion it would be far better if there were more active members on the board.

Vistas network stack has been made faster. It makes BitTorrent work 10% faster. As well as improving all other network transfers. But this will also introduce a bunch of new bugs into vista...

CBS news filmed a short video of the upcoming Microsoft Zune being unpacked and demonstrated. The Zune is going to be launched on November 14th and will compete directly with the iPod. The player will feature a 30GB hard drive, however there are rumours that a 60GB and 120GB variant are going to be released in 2007.

Mr J Harris is back to blogging

I'm going to the Montreal School Of Performing Arts (MSOPA) next wednesday. I'll be going for 10 weeks. I'm looking forward to it....

I visited the store L.L Lozeau and I am impressed! It has everything. Lighting equipment, tripods, printers, camcorders, flashes, monopods, camera bags and backpacks, cameras, lenses, flash brackets and lots more. Great prices too. They have the Rebel XT for 30$ less than the other camera store that I like. And it has a lot of camcorders. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I'm considering buying a digital DVD camcorder at some point. Probably a Canon DC-40, or DC-22. I also found the lens that I will buy for my next camera.

I got myself a flash bracket as well. It folds up and is really small and lightweight.

Well this is actually my first october post! Its amazing to think that its already the 4th actually!

And here is the camera stuff that I will buy soon!

-Canon EOS 30D dSLR
-Canon Speedlite 580EX flash
-Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens w/ hood
-1 GB CF Card

Or

-Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT w/ 55mm Zoom lens
-Canon EF 75-300mm f/3-5.6 Telephoto Zoom lens
-1 GB CF Card
-Manfrotto Tripod

I really like that first config. I've tried out the 20D and 30D cameras before. And I had felt far more confortable with them than I had with the Rebel XT. The Rebel XT is just too small for my hands to confortably fit it. But if I cannot afford a 30D then I will buy a Rebel XT...

That 24-105mm lens is amazing. A really good quality lens.

Oh and take a look at this site: ClubAMD A new forum thats been created by a member of JCXP. I havn't joined it yet. But it looks nice...

I'll post a few more pictures soon, its just that its been so rainy and not at all nice weather. BUT the weather is supposed to be nice when I go out this coming weekend so I'll take some pics then, when I go apple-picking.
