Our future generations
Well its been a while since I last actually wrote something on here hasn't it? Right now I'm in la croissanterie cafe on ste-catherine. I have been coming here in the afternoon very often these days, after school etc.
I was walking through my neighbourhood the other night, and I started contemplating the various behaviours of the younger people living here. In this town at least, there is a good deal of illegal activity, like shop-lifting, drug use, smoking under-age, vandalism etc, etc. Many of these acts are carried out by children/teens, in fact when I was walking I noticed a boy in the convenience store pocketing a drink. All of this is obviously due to lazy parenting, but it makes me really wonder about how this will be affecting the future of our world, what I mean to say, is that if children are brought up with the ideas that all of this is good, and develop a callous disrespect for our environment and society etc, then how will this affect things later on? True not everybody does these various things, but later on people will be far more aggressive towards other people most likely.
Also the things which parents introduce to their children, such as violent games (which would develop more aggression in them) and various other things, might indeed affect them more than it seems.
Anyway, just some thoughts of mine, lets get back to me now...
I had the pleasure of attending a friends wedding yesterday. There was a sort of theme in the whole setup: medieval times. There were decorations similar to a castle, and costumes like what I imagine a knight would wear etc. It was much more fun than a simple church wedding, it took place in a restaurant in old montreal, quite a nice restaurant as well, the food that I ate afterwards was delicious. I didn't stay for the dancing though, but that didnt make too much of a difference to me.
I wore my suit and tie, an outfit which I don't wear often, so it was fun to have an opportunity to do so. Also the newly wed couple are moving to my neighbourhood, so I will be seeing much more of them.
Anyways, I will get back to my books and coffee now, hopefully I will be blogging again sometime soon!
