Books, rainy day,

Well its a really rainy day down here in montreal here today, unfortunately I somewhat got ambushed by it on my way back home yesterday, it was looking so clear and nice out that it was unthinkable that it would rain, so I didn't bring my umbrella. But today I have, so its quite comfortable. Montreal weather is so unpredictable and polarised, ranging from snow-storms, to blazing hot summers with massive heat waves. Personally I prefer the winter, better too cold than too hot is my philosophy, illogical though it may be.

I have been reading so much lately, library books, I must renew them tomorrow, I have been reading a book on how schools miseducate its students on society, the true state of the world, the flaws in the public schools methods etc. Very interesting, I have also been reading a variety of other novels, mostly fiction, I have been enjoying them.

I have been also been writing a lot more, unfortunately not so much on my blog as you can tell by the large gaps between my posts, but more in my journal, and I have also been writing some fiction work of my own, not so much longer forms, more just snippets of larger ideas I have had, unfortunately it is rather disorganised and random, I must stick to individual things that I start, a bad habit or tendency that I have sometimes.

I will be dropping by the national library later, to pick up some films, some books, and perhaps some music, they have an incredible collection there, but when it comes to films, I need to find a good place to rent films from, the places that I am members of are more just pop-fiction type films, blockbuster, videoself, etc.

I will check out some second-hand clothing stores later today, I need to prepare for the winter, and above all get a new coat. Although that I will buy new.

I really shouldn't have brought my computer in the rain, but the best thing about having a nylon bag is its rain-repelling properties.

Anyways. I have to read a bit now, perhaps I'll get a sandwich or something for lunch or something.

November, some photos

Here are some photographs from over the summer and from recently. It is getting very cold very fast , its hard to believe that its already november, the days in which I wore shorts and sandals seems like just yersterday. Today was, my last day of bicycling till next spring. I'll be getting around via metro from now on, starting tomorrow, despite the obvious issues of the climate, I am actually looking forward to the winter, whenever I think of Montreal, montreal downtown, montreal streets, montreal cafes, montreal apartments, I always imagine them as being covered in a thick layer of snow (well excluding the interior of the cafes, of course!). I will be doing some shopping for a new winter coat next weekend, my current one is old, and not much in the way of style.

I saw my dad today, at his apartment. I picked up the gloves that I had forgotten at the cafe we were at the other day, had lunch, drank tea, chatted, etc. I had a bit of a surprise at some point when I was there actually, he gave me an excellent computer backpack, his old one, the strap is technically "broken", but is tied. I had been intending to get one for a while, there was one of decent quality at bureau engros that I had my eye on, but this one is just as good, even better since it was free. My old one was not an actual computer backpack, so would break sooner or later, was small, and was old (6 years) a good backpack though, as I had jam packed it with so much, but anyways I'll shut up about backpacks for now though. He also gave me "The Idiot" By Fyodor Dostoevsky, and a computer keyboard. The book was by an author of which I have read several publications previously, but of which I have enjoyed, the few that I've read that is.

I have been reading the 2 dozen or so books that I have from the library, (well, two or three libraries) not all at once of course, but a few at a time.

My dad put his film that he had done for his university degree, on youtube. I had seen it once before at the concordia cinema place. But that was several years ago, and I didn't really remember anything of it.

Anyways. I have to make myself a bit of a supper, I'll blog again sometime soon.
