Yet more pics+Camera update

I went over to a photography store today and learned a lot more about various camera models. SLR means that the screen cannot be used to view images. So you have to use the viewfinder. There were 3 camera's which I very much liked. Here they are:

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT----8 mpx-SLR-Interchangable lenses
Nikon D70S---6 mpx--SLR--interchangable lenses
~~Sony DSC R1~~10.3 mpx--Non-SLR--Non-interchangable lenses

I really loved the Sony. It is above the Canon Rebel XT in price, but cheaper than the Nikon, which has less features and capabilities than the sony. Here are some links to some reviews.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/r1.html

As you can see it is an excellent digi-cam. It costs 1100$ CAD, at least in the store I checked out which isn't the cheapest. I could probably get it for about 1000$.

The pictures above were taken in the botanical gardens. I will post more in this post tommorrow so check it again by the end of tommorrow for updates.

Actually I had never used a more professional digital camera before. I was amazed by these three. Especially the Sony. Also I like the swivelling screen atop the sony. Its very nice. The design is interesting.

My dad has started using Youtube. He made a movie with his digital camera while he was on his scooter. Its good. My current camera can make video's but without sound unfortunately.

In comparison to the Sony Cyber-shot R1 my current camera is a toy! I will get that camera instead of the Canon Rebel XT actually... While it is more expensive it is certainly worth it with 10.3 mpx!

However. I may want to get the Canon Rebel XT just for the lenses... But then again you also have to consider that each lense can be up to 200$$ CAD!!

The lense built into the R1 is quite good though. I'll have to read those reviews more closely.

I went on another photography trip today. This time over to downtown. I haven't tranferred those pictures to my computer yet though. So I'll post them tommorrow. I also went to the botanical gardens this morning.

I will be going to milwaukee near the end of this month actually. I'm looking forward to that...

Hope you like the pictures!!!

Yet some more Photo's from the hyper-active photographer/blogger...

Well as you can see I have modified the header with a picture that I took from the top of Mount-royal in montreal. I really so prefer it to the old one...

I have also categorized the links in the sidebar into 3 sections. "Blogs" "Forums" & "other links" as well as the video's section.

Anyway I do hope that you enjoy the pictures that I took on the photography trip on mount royal today.

But with my next digicam I'll be able to use Zoom, telephoto, & ultra-wide angle lenses. I can't wait for that time to come!

Went over to Laser-Quest today!

Well I went over to laser-Quest today. It waws really fun. A little different from the last time I went actually. But the principle was the same. Some of the differences included: Different maze design, no base, no need to "recharge", different read-outs and gun & vest design. But I liked it. I played two solo and one team game. I was doing well in the third game. I had named myself "Jacob" in the first two rounds, and "Neo" in the last. I also visited the laser-quest website @ http://www.laserquest.com Quite nice site design actually!

I will be going back to laser-quest again next weekend with a friend of mine. It will be just me and him. Which will make it somewhat more difficult to even find him in the maze! Today there were abotu 25 people. The first two games I used Gun "8" and the last game I used Gun "9". I wasn't doing all that well though-I only got 188 points. But it was fun anyways. Far better than just sitting around at the base waiting for an enemy to attack!

I have been using my iPod more. Its really fun. I love the UI. Its really sleek and streamlined, and I find that the controls are easy, although at the beginning I was having some difficulty figuring out how to scroll down the menu items, which I figured out.

Im going skating on saturday. I dont have my own pair of skates ( at least not any that fit me, now) I only went skating once before, and it was fun.

I had actually only gone to laser-quest once before. Its nice that you only pay 18$ CAD to go in yourself.

I like the way that they design the maze, I found the mirrors slightly confusing though as at first I had thought that they were windows and ended up firing away at a mirror. The maze was very dark and claustrophobic actually, with weird lights and smoke.

A person whom I know, "Allan" is selling his computer for about 500$ CAD. It has a Pentium 4, a DVD-RW, 2 80 GB HDD's in Raid 0 array, and a 128 MB video card GeForce 5500. All in all fairly good for the price. I will check it out tommorrow, to get some more detailed specs. The reason he is selling it actually is because he intends to buy a Compaq Presario laptop to replace it. I actually don't have all that much experience with Compaq notebooks. But by the sound of it he was very impressed by them, so maybe I will check them out.

Its 9:30 PM right now. I'll be having a bath soon actually and then reading a bit before going to bed. The latest I have ever gone to bed actually is around 4:00 AM. Usually I go to bed around 2:00 PM. Unless, like tonight Im tired out from a laser-quest party!

I may use an Intel Core 2 Duo In my next desktop actually, to try it out. Quite a switch for me, being the AMD fan that I am, but from the sound of it they are very good, so I'll give 'em a shot.

It's been raining so much recently actually. Actually for some reason this reminded me of Nicholas from ottawa, for some reason he hasn't been on MSN at all recently. Maybe he's on vacation or something though-- it is summer.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
Motherboard compatible with Core 2 Duo
4 GB OCZ Platinum PC2-6400 RAM
Plextor 760A DVD-RW
2 150 GB Raptors in Raid 0 Config
Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX with 512 MB RAM
Watercooled case
600w PSU

Yes that is the updated specs of my next PC. I am going to do some research to make sure that its all compatible.

What PSU Manufacturers would you recommend? (Please post your recommendations in a comment) I want the best quality on my next PC.

I just wish that intel would drop there prices more. AMD has just really dropped there's.

Anyway Bye for now...

PS: My apologies for not posting any pictures of the downtown area, when I was over there when I went to laser-quest. I will take them this coming weekend hopefully.

iPod....Bought!!

I have just taken my first few steps into the apple world with the purchase of a new iPod 30 GB... :-D

I really like it. Only problem is that all the wrapping plastic on it is hard to get off!

It cost about 400$$.... I will begin transferring songs onto it soon!!

I have never owned an iPod or even MP3 player before this. So I was figuring out how to use it... Its really fun..

Anyway thats all I have to say.

PS: Laser-quest is today I believe! :-D

Blog upgraded!

Well as you can see the blog has changed.... And in a very major way. In fact you were maybe wondering if you had gotten the right URL!

Indeed, I have changed the template. From minima blue to this uber kool "Rounders" skin... I was busy transferring my customizations like sitemeters, links etc to the new template...

Anyway I certainly hope that you like it! :D

Bye for now...

The crazy stuff that happened today...

Well I'll have to explain the whole story of this for it to make any sense...

Okay...

A long time back when I was still a computer n00b. I was gonna get a new PC from the store in that january. But then a friend said that she knew a great computer repair-man, and he suggested that he would build a PC for me for the cost of only 300$...

Then I went over to his place and saw the PC.... It only had a 20 GB HDD, and an Intel Pentium 3 @ 1.0 GHz and 384 MB RAM. But back then I didn't know what I know now...

Anyway I have got my notebook and it was just being used as an emergency PC...

So then today we decided to have him come over to replace it with something better. But then he refused saying that its good etc...

So Im just taking it apart and using the parts as spares...

I will be going to laserquest soon!!! Im really looking forward to it...

As per Thoth's request in the last comment I will post some pics of the downtown area of where I live.

Anyway bye for now...
