YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!! HAPPY WINDOWS VISTA DAY........TO ME!!!!

Well as you may have guessed from the title I'm very excited. And why? I'm downloading Vista!!!

Right now its at 8%. The file is 3 gigs.

I'm really looking forward to it!!!

Mac OS X

I am going to install Mac OS X onto my laptop some time soon... However as I believe I mentioned before my HD is FAT32 formatted. So I can only download files smaller than 4 GB.

However I have 2 HD partitions so all I will have to do is format the other partition.

Mac OS X is clearly superior to Windows XP. I have never had a chance to use it though. Which I regret as the few times I have I have been impressed by the UI and the OS's abilities. It is also probably easier to use although I have never been able to prove that to myself.

I am obviously not going to completely switch from Microsoft to Apple I am just going to dual-boot between the two. I am also interested in installing Windows VIsta. So after I install Mac OS X I will use Partition magic to create a third partition and install Vista onto it.

My dad has just gotten back to blogging after a long preiod of inactivity from Blogging. He has also just bought a Mac Laptop. And by coincidence bought it at about the same time as me.

Finally I installed McAfee VirusScan onto my laptop. So now it's all set and ready to go onto the internet and download stuff.

My laptop is now thoroughly set up. It has all of my "essential" software as well as all my files.

I have a huge number of files on my laptop. Themes, skins, images, videos, music, word documents, etc

PS: I am going to create a new website for myself and install wordpress into it. I'm still trying to understand how to do that though... But I think from the look of it that it will be worth it. :)

Internet cafe again

Hello All,
As you may have guessed from the title I have gone to the internet cafe again. This time I brought the power chord so that I dn't have to worry about the batteries.

I installed Microsoft office 2007. I had been having probems activating but today a friend gave me a solution and now I have it and am working on my novel from my laptop.

Because I ad never owned a laptop before I didn't understand how to use the CD drive. Today however I figured it out and now my laptop has all of my files and software.

I dwloaded the trailer for halo 3. Its really interesting. The file was about 100 MB. I downloaded it and now have it on my laptop.

Halo 3 as well as the halo film will be coming out next year or so.

I will soon install the software for my webcam onto my laptop as well as norton so that I ave antivirus protection.

I had my lunch and a hot chocolate in the cafe. I really like the speed as well. Its faster than T-1 actually. Once I have anti-virus I can download torrents and files fro limewire etc.

Im in a cyber cafe right now at my laptop connected at a speed of about 1.1 mbps. So good...

My internet as been down for days wich is why havn't been posting here much. Im working on my site. The graphics for WinXperts and I've gotten camtasia studio. Camtasia studio is an image capture software. Its really good. A friend sent me a keygen for it so I could crack it.

My laptops running on batteries which I kinda regret. Because there's a plug right here that I could have plugged it into. Next time I definetely will...

Im eating a crossant right now. I'm in a good mood here right now. Good sgnal strength too... Obviously as the router's a few meters away--lol. :D

I can go to this cafe every few days actually. Its very close by to where I live.

I've installed some of my software. Heres what I've installed so far:

Thats al Ive installed so far.

Windows X's Vista transformation pack 3.5 will e out really soon.

I've also been downloading lots of music from music.download.com. couldnt before on my dial-up connection but wireless is a whol different matter.

Its actally my firt times trying out WMP11 and IE7. They're both great.

I like the cleanness of the new internet explorer and I like the shiny new interface of windows media player 11.

I've mdded sysdm.cpl on my laptop so that it says that I have Windows Vista Ultimate version 2002 service pack 2.

Once VTP 3.5 comes out I'll install it and then I'll have a newer vista look on my laptop than on my old PC. Obviusly the new VTP has several bug fixes and imitates a newer build of Vista.

Of course though I wont install VTP if I decide to install the real thing.

Just today mcrosoft told people what vista's final specs wil be. They were actually quite low. So thats good news for me.

Hello All,
Right now I'm in front of my wonderfu new laptop!!! :p

Its great!! However there wee some complications that I had to endure when buying it. Heres the story:

I went to the store and bought it. I specificall reqested an english OS. However I got it with a french version of Windows XP! (oh no....)

I called them up and they sad that I'd have to go over there to get a replacement. However they had free delivery so I asked them to deliver the replacement here.

And then it was like 2 days late!!!

But got it and have started instlling software and stuff.

May 12th laptop report

Hello All,
Well I'm getting my laptop in 2 days!!! I have seen it myself so I know the specs and everything. Here they are:

Acer Aspire

-CPU: AMD Turion 64 @ 1.83 GHz
-RAM: 512 MB
-DVD-ROM
-Wireless network card that supports both B and G standards
-64 MB video card
-15.4" LCD-TFT screen
-100 GB Hard Drive

I need a bigger hard drive than my current 13.9 GB so I'm getting the laptop with a 100 Gig laptop.

Soon Enough I'll be posting from my new laptop. I'll post pictures and stuff soon.

I like Acer. The Travelmate series is good its just really expensive. After this laptop has had its time I'll get a travelmate.

I'm actually pretty smart about backing my files up if I do say so myself. Most of my files are replacable and for those that aren't I back them up online and on CD's.

It has been a while since I last posted on my blog. I last posted 2 days ago I think.

It'll take a while to get all set up on my next laptop though. I have to install all of my nescessary programs like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, ACDsee, MSN Messenger, WinRAR, McAfee etc.

Anyway I did promise that I'd post the pics of Stella's computer so here they are.

I installed Steam onto my computer. Its good. You can download games and chat to people with it.

Its been a rainy day today. When I went biking the rain wasn't as bad actually. It was 18 Degrees today.

I went toi microbytes for the first time, to check it out and see if there were any good laptops. I liked MicroBytes. It sells a ton of video cards, computer cases, wireless routers, Wireless network cards, and good gaming PC's.

Some day I'll buy a gaming PC. But right now a laptop is good for my purposes. I'm also moving around to different places sometimes. Or will be in the summer and for my vacation to florida.

Another reason that I want a new PC is so that I can play games on it. My current PC has a bad video card and a slower CPU and not that much RAM.

I am now the graphics designer for WinXperts.net I'm really pleased about this.

Got some pics of stellas computer

Stella sent me some pictures of her computer by MSN. Its actually quite nice.

I caught a throat-ache two days ago. Actually I can consider myself lucky since a friend of mine has both Pheumonia and Athsma! At the same time as well! Oh my god...

I've just got a CD full of 14 Adobe Programs from a friend of mine yesterday. So now I have the entire suite...

Windows X upgraded his site a bit and categorized the news postings and stuff. As well as the "projects" section. All in all its a good inprovement.

Its 13 degrees right now as I'm typing this up. Pretty good.

I love Windows X's website. Such a good design. His other website www.lucifiar.net was nice too but not nearly as good as this!

I watched the rest of the C++ Video tutorials. I'll be watching the Visual Basic tutorials soon as well.

The temperature was 21 degrees today. It was pretty warm :)

As you can see in the sidebar I've added some more links to a couple more Blogs and websites. I think that theres a few other links that I can remove actually.

In a post in the near future (like tommorrow) I'll post a long lists of sites devoted to Windows Vista Information. And trust me theres a lot.

I had had to disinstall and reinstall Maxthon today. Largely due to the fact that the tool bars had gotten screwed up but also due to me wanting to update to the latest version *strolls about whistling*

I've now posted 220 Posts on JCXP. If I said that to the people in JCXP they'd probably joke that I'd posted 220 posts of pure spam. Thats a regular forum joke.

I have also been looking at the modx cms tutorials and using the Demo. You can learn about modx at www.modxcms.com

Modx is good. It simplified doing stuff that you would ordinarily have to learn several other web languages to do, such as javascript ,CSS, and PHP.

You can also use modx to make a simple but nice blog/news posting website. This would be fully functional as well.

I counted my MSN contacts and saw that I have 42. Thats quite a lot. Especially considering the fact that I had only had 25 a few weeks ago. A friend of mine had just downloaded and installed Visa 5381.1 this morning. It took him 8 hours. It would take me weeks :( Actually even if I could download it I couldn't use it because my computer is not good enough. If my upcoming laptop is good enough then I will install vista on it. The specs are going down. This one person I knew had vista and only had 384 MB of RAM, a 1 GHz CPU and a crappy video card and he said the vista ran smoothly on it. Thats good news for me.

The latest build of Vista is very good. I downloaded a large collection of High-res shots which were posted on JCXP and stored them on my computer.

I watched the movie "serenity" today. I loved it :D it was a great film. I got it on DVD of course.

Some more work on my site

Well today I've been working a bit more on my website. Including a "blog" section. (don't worry its just a blog with new stuff on the website, tech stuff, tech tips etc)

I wish they had smileys in blogger :(

WindowsX has been putting in the final finishing touches to his site. He had gotten the final design set up yesterday but the text was HUGE. Now hes performing some maintenance on it so hopefully he's dealin with the txt size bug now.

I just saw that Windows X has signed up with JCXP forums. So I guess that he's setting up his new forum now.

Just noticed that JCXP got Invision Power Board 2.0.6 which is the latest IPB along with their new server.

They were having some connction problems earlier today and the server was so slow... But its back to normal now. Yeah!!!

You need invision power Board software to start a forum. It cost like 185$ a year. I hope that thats CAD :O

I'll be making a cake tommorrow :)

OMG this is a long post!!!

I love the new MSN build so much!!!

New vista build released today!!! Build 5381. Has no significant changes to the UI but has plenty of bug fixes ;)

Also this new build is huge!!! :O 3000 MB!!! This was actually supposed to be beta 2 and released on may 22nd but I guess Microsoft decided to change its mind.

I hope that Beta 2 will be out soon... *waits* (probably it will)

I'm thinking of getting my laptop next week!!! Yeahh!!! :D

JCXP back!!!

Well JCXP's server was online but I had to wait till my ISP cleared my DNS. And then today I checked-and I got to JCXP. It could have taken 3 weeks but I got lucky.

I have 42 MSN contacts now. I have joined this new forum called WinXperts which was set up on April 25th 2006.

I'm going to the hair dresser today to get my hair cut. I'm kind of excited about that.

Stella sent me a picture of her desktop on MSN. Its really nice. Shes using a new wallpaper and windowBlinds skin.

I chatted to her on MSN today and sent her a picture of my desktop. Mine is nice too. I should post a picture of it. The JCXP IRC channel is dead because the new JCXP server is back online.

JCXP is now so fast. And I had thought that it was fast before... Even on my dial-up!!

I use Avast antivirus. Which is free and works very well.

I've been working very hard on my website and have added a sitemeter to it today-one of the changes that I had mentioned earlier.

I'll be going to the hairdresser soon. In less than half-an hour in fact.

JCXP new server

Hello All,
Well JCXP's been migrating all of its data to its new dedicated server so the sites been down part of yesterday and all of today so far. There is now an estimate of 2 hours plus DNAS propagnation time till JCXP gets back online.

However they have set up a new JCXP IRC channel as a conference lounge for all of the members until JCXP is back. I've been chatting on it and while doing so discovered that I could use opera browser to chat on IRC. Its free unlike mIRC and the emoticons actually work.

AeroXP has an IRC channel as well. Except that its completely empty.

I'm continuing to work on the website design today with andrew. My website has just got a new homepage speaking of websites. Check it out at www.freewebs.com/mrjharris

I downloaded Skin Studio Free yesterday. However I saw some bad opinions of it on the JCXP IRC channel.

MSN Messenger Beta refresh Build 8.0.0689

Hello All,
Well today I downloaded the above build of MSN messenger. I have posted a screenshot to show you what the new UI looks like.

I am really happy about the fact the MSN Today is back. MSN today shows your emails, news and information. It was indeed very useful. It was removed in the previous builds but now has reappeared in this new build.

Other changes include: New icons, status icons, and system tray icon, (far different from the previous builds icons which were identical to windows mesenger). The previous build was terrible as I had mentioned in a previous post.

The new UI is excellent. Please tell me what you think of the screenshot.
